Puppy madness...
Oh my. Should I say, "I shouldn't have?" It is too late for that. She would have been put to sleep as her time was up a week and half ago. So we come home with an Airedale mix from the Missouri City Animal Control Saturday after being alerted to a possible Airedale in shelter. Texas Rescue has no room or money for mixes. Vet approximates 6 to 12 months old. Definitely a puppy, though. Wants to chew my shoes. Bought her a red bone Kong and I freeze it with peanut butter. She cries for an hour in her crate every night. Learning to pee and poop outside. Almost there. Working on an appt. to get her spayed for a reasonable price. There is almost no such thing. Bentley is not amused at her exuberance and wanted to eat her yesterday when she wouldn't leave him alone. Her name needs to be Lucy as in I love Lucy because she is really doofus and silly and cute and smart. For now, it is Ricki. Incredible amounts of energy and butt-stuck like a piece of Velcro to me or Kris. She is a foster. Hopefully, the manager at PetSmart will decide for sure that he wants her next Monday. Send lots of Aire-Zen. Tired! Kris asked me what happened to the transport and paperwork aspect of rescue that I volunteered for. All I can say is I'm a sucker for so-called throwaway dogs. Hope everyone is well and will update as time allows!

I did ask but we all know I was never dumb enough to believe that is all it would be and you are smart enough to drag me along to the shelter so that I can't say no. I just think she needs to find a home fast - She has been so good since I got home today it scares me & the more she gets used to us and starts acting normal the more I will want to keep her forever.
ReplyDeleteThank you for saving this puppy dog!!
ReplyDeleteAnd even if it i just half an Airedale, her life is as precious as ours.
We know you are feeling tired and exhausted but please be patient with her.
The Bentmeister would need time and space to adjust as well if she was to stay with you.
Our mum would come over and get her right now if we lived a bit closer. We would have her, how could you not...poor thing, you don't want to put her too much more trauma...
Good luck!
Lots of love, Inky and Molly
PS: You should definitely have! She's adorable (under all that puppy madness).
She is an incredible goof-ball dog and is making us laugh! Not complaining but I'm feeling a little older tonight. She loves water and put her whole head under the bathtub faucet I was informed when Kris came home today. Can you say water-dog?!!!
ReplyDeleteShe is abslutely gorgeous. She is young has lots to learn but will bring so much joy to her new owners............... perhaps you? Aaaw go on...
ReplyDeleteWell done for saving her.
Molly, Taffy and Monty. (I am starting to settle in my new home).
What a cutie she is! I remember the day dad brought Mitch home at 4 months old from the pet store! I wanted him to take him back asap! He had wayyyyyy too much energy for me! I love my little brother but it sure took a lot of time and patience to get there! Lucy will get there - she will!
ReplyDeleteLove ya lots,
Maggie and Mitch
Oh what a cute little (big?) fuzz butt! We are so glad you rescued her and will be crossing our paws that the perfect family will find out about her and bring her into their forever home.
ReplyDeleteThank you for saving her .... the right things will fall into place. We know it.
